Tom and Jerry always quarrel and dispute but are always together.
Michelle Buteau’s relationship with her spouse is not much different, as they often mock one another. However, no altercation is large enough to tear the loving pair apart.
Today, let’s have a look at the husband-wife duo’s strange but endearing friendship!
A Marriage That Is Both Annoying and Admirable
Michelle, who is most known for hosting the audio show Late Night Whenever, is married to Gijs van der Most, a Dutch photographer.
The couple, who married on 31 July 2010 at the Hyatt Pier 66 hotel following a two-year long-distance courtship, uses social media to provide glimpses of their private lives.
Michelle, who was born to Caribbean parents, frequently mocks her husband on Twitter.
For example, on 9 July 2013, the Enlisted actress mocked her husband’s “stupidity” for not understanding who Tony was in the Tony Awards Show and instructed him to Google it.
However, Gijs is not blameless when it comes to causing his wife distress. Michelle tweeted a photo on 1st December 2013 in which she called her spouse nasty for photographing her sobbing while face timing and watching The Walking Dead with him.
Similarly, on 22 July 2016, Michelle, who stands at a height of 5 ft 7 inches (1.7 m), uploaded an Instagram post requesting her beau to take a picture on National Selfie Day, which he declined, claiming that the occasion was set by someone else.
Michelle eventually triumphed, and the two took a wonderful selfie together.
Apart from their disputes, the pair also has a solid marriage, which is stronger than before. Michelle, who is of Jamaican origin, released a video of the lovers traveling and singing together in their car on 22 April 2017.
On 31 July 2012, the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary. Michelle even shared a photo of the two to commemorate their significant occasion.
Michelle and Gijs are unquestionably a match made in heaven, but their conflicts have increased in recent days, as has their love. Michelle is probably the Batman to Gijs’ Joker, and their cat and mouse game may go on indefinitely.
Parenthood Is The Next Stage Of Marriage
Michelle and Gijs became parents simultaneously with not one, but two children. In late January 2019, the couple announced the birth of their twins, Hazel and Otis, via surrogate.
The ecstatic mother turned to Instagram to share a sweet photo of herself holding her two children and reflecting on the struggle the couple endured to have their own children. Similarly, with the addition of two new family members, the two lovebirds are seen enjoying quality time together and having a good time on vacation.
Michelle and her husband recently celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary, commemorating the occasion with an Instagram post. It appears as though all of the two’s missing parts are falling into place. Michelle will also appear in Awkwafina’s new comedy show, adding to the flood of good news. The comedian’s involvement is certain to cause some to fall out of their seats.
Joins the Club of First Wives
Michelle is poised to join the cast of First Wives Club, the television series based on the 1986 film of the same name.
Michelle, along with Jill Scott, was cast as two of the three lead ladies earlier in August 2018, while the identity of the third major actress has not been revealed. Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, and Goldie Hawn appeared in the original film.
The series will follow a group of unmarried women who band together when their marriages fail and support one another while plotting revenge on their ex-husbands.
Michelle will portray a physician who was devoted to her former husband but felt betrayed when he cheated on her. Similarly, Jill will portray Hazel, a former celebrity who wants vengeance on her partner for defrauding her in both business and matrimony. The series is set to debut in early 2019.
