On November 4, 2014, Christopher Ulmer, an American disability rights advocate and YouTube sensation, married Alyssa Porter.
The couple runs a non-profit fundraising YouTube channel called Special Books by Special Kids, which they started together.

Alyssa has a Bachelor’s degree in Science, a Bachelor’s degree in Entomology and Nematology, and a Minor in Anthropology in addition to her Bachelor’s degree in Science. Chris’s partner also holds a Master’s degree in Museum Studies from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
Alyssa Porter, Chris Ulmer’s wife, aided Dr. Susan Webb with her research, which focused on insect vectors of plant viruses and the environmental issues they pose in vegetable production. She also interned at the Indiana State Museum as an Exhibition Production Intern.
Alyssa then went to graduate school in Indianapolis, where she received the Allen Whitehill Clowes Museum Fellowship.
She then returned to Florida and accepted a position as Curator at the Jacksonville Museum of Science and History. Currently, Alyssa works as the executive director of Special Books by Special Kids, a non-profit fundraising organization.

Special Kids Write Special Books
Under the pillars of respect, honesty, positivity, mindfulness, and collaboration, Special Books by Special Kids seeks to normalize the diversity of the human condition. It was founded in 2016 and is currently hosted by Chris Ulmer and his wife Alyssa. SBSK has a YouTube channel with over 2.22 million subscribers and a website.
Furthermore, the couple has raised funds to assist many disabled children with their medication. Many people have been inspired to help such special children as a result of their efforts.
