Kathy Griffin and her husband Randy Bick took their time getting to know each other before marrying in 2020. The couple first began dating in 2011.
With Griffin, Bick has been through hell and back. She also expresses gratitude for her good fortune in finding him. Griffin acknowledged her mild amazement at finding someone so supportive and loving in her husband on Valentine’s Day 2022.
On Valentine’s Day, Kathy Griffin honored her husband
Griffin, like the rest of the world on that day, took to Instagram to write some heartfelt thoughts for her husband on February 14, 2022. She sent out a happy message to those who had found love and to those who were still looking.
“I don’t consider myself to be a very lucky person,” she began the caption, maybe alluding to her horrific experiences with cancer and addiction throughout her life.
“So I can’t believe I ended up being lucky in love after all.” Griffin immediately followed up with a comment about her husband.
As she explained, the photo she posted was from one of their first dates, which took place 11 years ago. The couple posed for the camera while eating ice cream in the photo. Both of them were dressed casually, so it appeared to be a casual date. Her outfit consisted of a white tank top and rectangular spectacles. Bick was dressed in a grey hoodie and a blue t-shirt.
Griffin closed the caption by wishing everyone a happy Valentine’s Day and giving out some positive energies, adding, “sending hope to the unlucky ones,” followed by a kiss emoji.
On January 1, 2020, the couple married. Lily Tomlin, the wedding officiator, joked in her wedding announcement video that their relationship started out as a one-night fling but turned into something more. They, like any other relationship, have had their ups and downs. Griffin announced on Twitter in 2018 that she and Bich had ended their seven-year relationship. The breakup, on the other hand, did not last long.
Kathy Griffin’s Strength Is Her Husband
Griffin has faced her fair share of adversity in her life. In recent years, the sometimes-controversial comedian has battled drug addiction and cancer.
After an extraordinary photoshoot in 2017, she sparked the most controversy of her career. She wore a face mask for the session that “looked to be bloodied with the likeness of then-US President Donald Trump,” according to ABC News.
There was a huge backlash as a result of this. Her stunt was described as “obviously horrible and absolutely improper” by her friend, CNN’s Anderson Cooper. This photograph, which took place around the time of her 2017 comedy tour, pushed her through a rough patch in her life. She became addicted to medications, which she began taking after a doctor’s prescription.
As the year 2020 drew nearer, her condition deteriorated as she developed an addiction, a proclivity to trust her critics, and suicidal thoughts. Her spouse, on the other hand, was right there. Following that, Bick assisted her in receiving therapy and through a detox.
She had a few more health scares in 2021. On August 2, 2020, she revealed that she has stage one lung cancer. Bick has also been there for her throughout this chapter, and it appears that their relationship has improved as she has.
