Kathy Griffin and her husband Randy Bick allowed their relationship to mature before marrying in 2020. The couple first began dating in 2011.
With Griffin, Bick has been to hell and back. And she expresses gratitude for her good fortune in finding him.
Griffin expressed her surprise at finding someone so supportive and loving in her husband on Valentine’s Day 2022.
Kathy Griffin Celebrates Valentine’s Day with Her Husband
Griffin, like the rest of the world that day, took to Instagram on February 14, 2022, to write some heartfelt words for her husband. She sent out a positive message to those who had found love as well as those who remained.
“I don’t consider myself to be a very lucky person,” she began the caption, possibly referring to her years of dealing with cancer and addiction.
“I still can’t believe I was so lucky in love after all.” Griffin immediately followed up with a comment about her husband.
As she revealed, the photo she posted was from one of their first dates 11 years ago. The couple posed for the camera while eating ice cream in the photo.
Both of them appeared to be on a casual date because they were dressed in non-formal attire. She was wearing rectangular glasses and a white tank top. Bick was dressed in a grey hoodie with a blue t-shirt underneath.
Griffin then wished everyone a happy Valentine’s Day and ended the caption with “sending hope to the unlucky ones,” followed by a kiss emoji.
The couple married on January 1, 2020. Lily Tomlin, the wedding officiator, joked in her wedding announcement video that their relationship began as a one-night stand but evolved into something more.
They, like any other relationship, have had difficult times. Griffin announced on Twitter in 2018 that she and Bich had ended their seven-year relationship. The breakup, however, did not last long.
Kathy Griffin’s Husband Is Her Source of Strength
Griffin has faced her fair share of adversity in her life. In recent years, the sometimes-controversial comedian has battled drug addiction and cancer.
After an outrageous photoshoot in 2017, she sparked the most controversy of her career. During the shoot, she wore a face mask that “appeared to be bloodied with the then-US President Donald Trump’s likeness,” according to ABC News.
This sparked a significant backlash. Her stunt was described as “clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate” by her friend, CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
This photoshoot, which took place during her 2017 comedy tour, pushed her through a difficult period in her life. She became addicted to pills, which she began taking after a doctor’s prescription.
As the year 2020 approached, her condition deteriorated as she developed an addiction, a proclivity to believe her detractors, and suicidal thoughts. Her husband, on the other hand, was right there.
Following that, Bick assisted her in seeking treatment and completing a detoxification program.
2021 brought her more health concerns. On August 2, 2020, she announced her stage one lung cancer diagnosis.
Bick has also been there for her throughout this chapter, and it appears that as she has improved, so has their relationship.
