He signed a three-year, $66 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons, making him one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. The contract came with a $25 million signing bonus and was fully guaranteed. He earned $40 million in salary and endorsements.
In 2014, the Falcons signed him to a $71 million contract that included a fifth-year option for the 2015 season. Thus, out of a total of $71 million, $47 million was guaranteed. Julio Jones’s Career
Julio Jones made history as the first true freshman wide receiver to start for Alabama in a season opener against the Clemson Tigers in the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff on August 30, 2008. With his outstanding performance, Julio was named ‘SEC Freshman of the Year,’ second-team All-SEC, and the ‘SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman Team’ by the end of the year.
Before the 2009 season, the football player was one of only four players unanimously selected to the ‘All-SEC Coaches’ Football Team.’ He led his previously underperforming team to the SEC Western Championship with a 12-0 record after a “sophomore slump” in the first half of the season. Despite this, they were defeated in the SEC championship game and the Sugar Bowl.

He was the state champion in the long jump, triple jump, and high jump in 2006 and 2007.
The 34-year-old attended Foley High School in Alabama, where he was a wide receiver and defensive end for the Lions. As a junior, he caught 75 passes for 1,306 yards and 16 touchdowns.
