Julie Etchingham is a British broadcast journalist who currently hosts ITV News At Ten and the political program Tonight. Throughout her career, the multi-award-winning TV personality has covered a variety of significant events, making her a household name in the British television scene.

Julie was born on August 21, 1969, in Leicester, England, to teacher parents. She had a well-educated upbringing and is a devout Roman Catholic. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Cambridge.

Career

After graduation, she joined the BBC as a trainee and began her journalism career as a reporter with BBC Midlands, where Babita Sharma worked as a documentarian and news anchor. She quickly rose through the ranks and presented Midlands Today, as well as contributing to other programs such as BBC Breakfast News and Newsround (1994 to 1997).

She advanced her career after joining Sky News alongside Peter Switzer, where she hosted shows such as Sky News Today and Five News (2002 to 2007).
