Joel Brown of WTVD anchors Eyewitness News’ weekend evening editions. During the week, he broadcasts live reports from the Triangle area of North Carolina. The reporter began his career in television news at KETK, an NBC affiliate in Tyler, Texas.
He co-anchored the station’s newscasts at 5:00 p.m. Joel covered education in addition to television. The Texas State Teachers Association even honored him with the 2004 Outstanding Education News Series Award.

He was also present at Kennedy Space Center, where he reported on the final launch of NASA’s space shuttle program. The reporter eventually became the Washington-based correspondent for CBS Newspath.
