The Major League Baseball star announced on Instagram on 30 July that he and his wife welcomed their first child. Their son is named Beckham Aaron Trout.
Beckham, who was born at 5:10 pm and weighed 7lb 10oz, completed Trout’s family.
Several of his fellow MLB players congratulated the new father shortly after the post.
“Happy birthday Beckham!” wrote Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander. Then, San Diego Padres pitcher Garrett Richards added, “Kiiiiiid, welcome to the Dad club! I can’t wait to gather all the boys!!”
According to ESPN, Mike was placed on paternity leave by the Los Angeles Angels team just one day before welcoming his child.
