Nicole da Silva is best recognized for her role as Franky Doyle in Wentworth, a blockbuster Foxtel prison drama.
Da Silva was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on September 18, 1981. Her family is from Portugal, therefore she understands and speaks a little Portuguese.
From 2013 through 2018, the actress, 40, starred in 55 episodes of Wentworth over the first six seasons. Franky is a lesbian character who first appeared as the main antagonist in season 2 before becoming the protagonist in season 3.
Da Silva keeps a low profile when it comes to her personal life, leading to conjecture among admirers that she, too, is a lesbian. Nicole da Silva’s silence has sparked speculation about her sexuality. Is she currently dating someone? Is she a married woman? Let’s have a look.
Nicole da Silva is a lesbian
Da Silva portrayed a lesbian character on Wentworth and has frequently advocated for the LGBT community. She hasn’t, however, come out as queer.
During an interview with the Star Observer in 2016, the Wentworth actress who played Franky spoke out for the LGBT community and explained why Australian television and films need to portray the lives and relationships of the LGBT population.
“Because lesbian relationships are so rare and far between, the LGBT community is proud and open to have a lesbian partnership or numerous female relationships shown on film.”
Franky’s plotline was wrapped up in the first three episodes of the sixth season of Wentworth before she left the show in 2018.
Da Silva received the ASTRA Award for Most Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor (Female) in 2014 for this performance, as well as several other nominations.
Relationship Status
Chris, her five-year boyfriend, and the 5FM DJ married the marriage on June 8. She posted a video of the couple in an Italian restaurant enjoying their wedding party.
In the video, the couple is seen cutting their wedding cake. During her interview with News24, she discussed how she and her partner got engaged in December 2019 and their determination to marry despite the covid epidemic.
“We may not have the party we planned, but we didn’t want to put our marriage on hold,” she explained. “We didn’t like the notion of having our wedding anniversary be unrelated to anything, so we married on our fifth dating anniversary.”
To witness their vows, the couple walked down the aisle of their officiator’s garden with a small gathering of close friends and relatives. After their wedding, they headed to an Italian restaurant where they were observed celebrating.
Nicole da Silva: How Did She Meet Her Husband?
Silva revealed that she met her husband, Chris, at a braai in 2016 with one of her close friends from university radio.
She had no intention of going at first, but after her companion insisted, she went to the open fireplace. Chris, her now-husband, was a coworker of her friend’s husband, and the two hit it off right away when they started conversing that night.
“We got along well and had some light banter, but we didn’t exchange phone numbers or anything. A few days later, he wrote me an inbox message on Facebook.”
A week after meeting around the open fire, the two went on a date and have been together ever since. Da Silva announced she was pregnant with their first child in April 2018, and the baby was born in July 2018.
