Fans of Lady Gaga, get ready! The brilliant singer-songwriter and actress, 35, is supposedly starring alongside actor Joaquin Phoenix in the sequel to Joker.

‘Joker 2’ stars Lady Gaga
Phoenix wanted actress Rooney Mara to play the female protagonist in the Joker sequel, according to a source quoted by Deuxmoi.
According to the account presented by Deuxmoi, Lady Gaga has been cast in the sequel to Joker. Mara rose to prominence after starring in the 2011 thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She has also appeared in films such as Side Effects, Her, and Carol.
Since late 2016, she has been in a relationship with Phoenix. River, the couple’s kid, was born in September 2020. However, the film’s casting committee apparently decided on Gaga to portray the role, despite the lead actor’s opposition.
The Reaction of Fans to the News
Fans were overjoyed as soon as the unauthorized news spread on social media. Many others even resorted to Twitter to express their feelings over the news.
“Have you heard that Warner Bros. wants Lady Gaga to play the female Joker? That is something I believe the world requires “one said on Twitter.
Another admirer fantasized about Lady Gaga giving her best performance in Joker 2. “a fan wrote “It is the year 2026. I’ve taken a seat for Joker 2. As Harley Quinn, Lady Gaga has performed the greatest performance of our lifetime. My body emits a ray of light.”
“I soar above the audience. We’ve reached the pinnacle of cinema “the tweet went on to say.
A film journalist, Darren Mooney, also commented on the casting announcement, stating that if Gaga is cast in Joker 2, the most interesting aspect of the film would be the “method acting” debate regarding a female lead in a blockbuster. However, neither an official source nor the film’s makers have confirmed that Gaga will join the Joker sequel’s cast.
Is ‘Joker 2’ Officially Confirmed?
The sequel for Joker has not been disclosed by the creators, same like Gaga’s casting news. Various sites, however, have indicated that the sequel’s production is proceeding forward, with filming expected to begin in 2023.
According to Heroic Hollywood, Warner Bros. recently acquired the first draft of the sequel from an inside source. “The film will begin shooting sometime in 2023,” according to the newspaper.
Joker has only made a few small-scale appearances since the 2019 film, with Jared Leto returning his character as the Clown Prince of Crime in Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut being one of them.
Another theory claims that the figure will feature in Robert Pattinson’s film The Batman. Todd Phillips directed Joker, which was released in the United States in October 2019 and was based on a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver.
Along with Phoenix, the film featured Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, and others.
