Adwoa Aboah, a close friend and contemporary of Cara Delevingne, asked her about her idea of sexual fluidity in 2017. The two were seen together at The Bowery Hotel in New York. They reminisced about their youth and discussed a wide range of issues. The Glamour taped and reported on their chat.
Aboah and Delevingne began their conversation by discussing their recent trip to Burning Man, an annual event in the United States that emphasizes community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance.
Aboah, a close friend of Delevingne’s, then casually mentioned that “a lot of our first times have been together.” The English model responded by asking if Aboah was referring to “the first time we had sex.” “That’s not real,” Aboah replied, laughing nonchalantly thereafter.
The British model said, “We haven’t had sex,” and went on to question people’s perceptions of themselves. In her response, she questioned Delevingne, “What do people get wrong about you and me?” “Everything? Nothing. I’m not sure, “Delevingne was quick to respond.
Model Aboah then talked about how people refer to them as “model best friends,” and how they were “friends” long before they got into the fashion industry. As she remarked, Aboah acknowledged her gratitude and commented on her friendship with Delevingne. What I’ve always appreciated about our friendship is that we don’t expect anything from each other except friendship.

As the talk developed, Aboah brought up the subject of sexual flexibility with Delevingne. She presented an example to the English model turned actress and asked her opinion on the matter.
Aboah told Delevingne about a day when she was fifteen and seemed confused about her sexual identity. In response to her friend’s argument, Delevingne stated that she is aware of “13- and 15-year-old females” who are unable to decide “whether I prefer a boy or a girl yet.”
The English model used her personal example to say she is “quite delighted” that sexuality is becoming a “easier and freer to talk about” topic, particularly among the younger generation.

“Can you tell me what happened when you spoke up?” Aboah invited Delevingne to talk about her personal sexual fluidity experience. At the age of twenty-two, Delevingne, who is now twenty-nine years old, publicly addressed her sexual preferences.
She came up about her experience discussing “about my sexual fluidity” and how people misinterpreted her preference.
Delevingne reported being mistaken for a lesbian and being questioned if she was “gay” on several occasions.
