Michael Dodge, Leonardo Nam’s husband, is his life partner. The actor and his wife are the proud parents of twin kids, who were born in 2017. Nam and Dodge are both pretty upfront about their feelings for one another. They also routinely post about their lives as a couple on their Instagram pages.
Here’s how Nam met his husband and how their love developed.
Leonardo Nam’s First Meeting His Partner
Nam was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to South Korean parents. He went to Sydney, Australia, when he was six years old and pursued acting during his high school years. Later, the Westworld star relocated to New York to pursue a career as an actor. In 2004, he had his breakout performance in the film The Perfect Score.
A year later, Nam starred in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants as Brian McBrian, a dedicated gamer. When the film’s sequel was announced in 2008, and he was set to reprise his part, there was worry that Middle America might be turned off by an Asian man in a love role.
Nam went to the gym, determined to prove them incorrect. It was here that he met the man who would become his husband. When chatting with Out, Nam described his meeting with his partner as a “genuine basic-gay love tale.”
Nam and his wife Dodge have a habit of making posts about each other. Dodge celebrated his 50th birthday in July 2021 by posting several photos of himself and Nam on the Greek island of Mykonos.
“Thank you so much for the birthday greetings! In Mykonos, Leo is showing me a great time! “What a way to reach 50,” he wrote beside a party popper and a red heart emoji.

Nam and his wife have gone a long way since their initial meeting. The couple has already tied the wedding, though they haven’t said when. In 2017, they welcomed twin sons Alexander and Cooper into the world.
Nam opened up about parenthood in an interview with The San Diego Union Tribune.
“It still amazes me that I’m a father. “My kids have an unexpected sense of humor that makes me laugh in a visceral manner,” he remarked.
“Providing my children a voice and giving them the time, love, and consideration they need to communicate their own wants and needs has been eye-opening… I want to give them what I lacked as a child growing up in a household.”
His family had a history of domestic abuse when he was growing up. It was also because of this encounter that he decided to pursue acting. He wrote and delivered a profoundly personal monologue “based on [his] mother and the domestic violence that was happening at home by [his] father” during his high school years.
Nam stated in another interview with New Now Next that he intended to instill his ideals and ways of life on his sons. He also stated that he never saw himself as a father, but that now that he is, he feels much more connected to the world.
