In September 2017, Steven Pasquale and Phillipa Soo married. The couple enjoyed a small, low-key wedding with only their closest family and friends, a far cry from the lavish star-studded celebrations.
In 2014, Pasquale and Soo met in New York, where the former was starring in The Bridges of Madison County on stage. Jonathan Groff, one of his wife’s castmates, introduced him to his wife, who was rehearsing Hamilton.
The couple fell in love and announced their engagement on Instagram in February 2016.
“We’re engaged!” Soo posted a photo of the actress flashing her ring. This man has my heart. I’ll spend the rest of my days with him eating hot noodle soup.”
They walked down the aisle almost a year later.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays Jesse Tyler Ferguson on Modern Family, was the first to announce the wedding on Instagram with a snapshot of the newlyweds. The couple has enjoyed spending time together since their wedding, which is frequently featured on Pasquale’s Instagram. However, in September of this year, the Rescue Me star spoke up on Instagram about a time when their marriage was put to the test.
Sickness and Health
Pasquale posted a casual snapshot of his wife with a pledge to make it up to her in the message. Following their marriage, it appears that the actor was diagnosed with Lyme illness and chronic back pain. He recalls being “literally, for months” curled up on the floor.
Pasquale was unable to accomplish anything that would break his spirit. He added that his wife, whom he affectionately referred to as Pippa, was unfazed by the incident and was entirely supportive of him.
Phillipa Soo’s post by Steven Pasquale
“Every hour of every day, unlimited kindness, patience, love, and positivity.” I was there for a year and a half. I didn’t have much to offer her. “And she just kept on coming,” the actor wrote.
He went on to say that almost two years later, things had improved and that he promised to make amends to his loving wife.
The Good Wife actor thanked Soo and wished her a good anniversary at the end of the post. Pasquale, it appears, was not the only one who was blown away by his wife’s generosity and strength.
Before Phillipa Soo, Steven Pasquale had a Relationship
Fans praised the Hamilton actress in the comments section, saying that Pasquale had finally found the one. Before finding happiness with Soo, he had to go through a divorce.
He was formerly married to Laura Benanti, who played Eliza Doolittle in the Broadway version of My Fair Lady. They first met while working on the musical The Secret Garden in 2005.
The actress was divorcing Chris Barron, the lead singer of the Spin Doctors, at the time.
She took note of the attractive actor, but that was it. Benanti and Pasquale didn’t go on their first date until a few months later when they were both working on different projects.
The couple married in 2017, two years after their romance began, and the Broadway star relocated to Los Angeles. Unfortunately for them, their marriage did not continue, and they divorced in 2013. The pair stated that their breakup was amicable and that they would stay friends.
