Films about zombies first appeared in the 1930s and gained popularity in the late 1960s; since then, cinema has been fascinated with the genre, which shows no signs of slowing down.
The eagerly awaited trailer for Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead demonstrates this. Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, and Hiroyuki Sanada star in the upcoming Netflix film. Huma Qureshi, a Bollywood actress, also has a significant role in the film. She shared the trailer for the film on Instagram yesterday. The film will be released in theaters on May 14th and on Netflix on May 21st.
From friends to fans
The actress wrote in the captions of the video that she is incredibly proud to be a part of Snyder’s work and that she has always been a fan of Snyder and is now a friend. She expressed her enthusiasm about the unusual opportunity to work with Snyder in an interview with Hindustan Times.
After Army of the Dead, Qureshi seems to have formed a friendship with Snyder. The actress shared a relaxed dinner photo with Snyder and the rest of the cast and crew in a restaurant with wine shelves.
Few people have the chance to work on a project like this. What makes you think I wouldn’t be excited about a Zack Snyder film? I’m just living a fantasy.
In 2019, Qureshi joined the thousands of people who used the hashtag #ReleasetheSnyderCut on Instagram to express their support for Snyder’s grassroots movement.
Huma Qureshi also posted a video of herself dancing and congratulating Snyder when Warner Brothers announced the unveiling of the ‘Snyder Cut’ of Justice League. He replied by telling the actress that he wanted to learn to dance like her.
Qureshi then promised him that if he ever visited India, she would arrange for him to take dance lessons.
Qureshi’s Isn’t a Newcomer to the World Stage
Despite the fact that this is Qureshi’s first time in Hollywood, he is no stranger to the international stage. Her first film, Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), received widespread acclaim and earned her a spot at the Cannes Film Festival. She’s been to Cannes almost every year since then.
She also starred in Viceroy’s House, an Indo-British film with Gurinder Chadha, and Leila, a film with Deepa Mehta, in 2017.
There has been a recent trend of Bollywood stars relocating to the United States. Priyanka Chopra made her Hollywood debut with Quantico and has since acted in a number of films, the most recent of which is The Matrix 4.
