Elizabeth Lail, your leading lady, got married! The actress married her childhood sweetheart, pediatric dentist Nieku Manshadi, at Hasbrouck House in Stone Ridge, New York, where they also celebrated their first anniversary.
“It felt fitting to go back to a spot from our experience and share it with the people we care about,” Elizabeth Lail explained.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, the couple chose a modest wedding with only 22 guests, all of whom were vaccinated. They decided not to wait any longer and invited only their immediate families to ensure everyone’s safety.
Lail told Brides about how she met her husband at a mutual friend’s party in Williamsburg and how they fell in love. Manshadi dropped down on his knees with her grandmother’s wedding ring on a weekend visit to Montauk, New York, but it morphed into a fireside proposal.
An In-Depth Look at the Intimate Wedding
Lail, a newlywed, found planning her wedding at a period of uncertainty to be a natural experience. They didn’t have a clear vision for their wedding, so she explored Pinterest for inspiration, but once the site was secured, everything fell into place.
We didn’t have a clear vision, and it’s easy to get caught up in the possibilities, so we just waited and listened for what felt right. As more and more creatives joined involved, the wedding unveiled itself to us.”
All of the wedding’s details, from the date to the cake, were based on Hasbrouck House’s choices and availability, according to Lail. The Once Upon a Time actress wore a handmade Andrea Hawkes gown made of Marrocaine silk, while the groom wore a Freemans Sporting Club dark navy suit.
During their first glance before the wedding, the two exchanged love letters. She encouraged other couples to do the same, describing it as a lovely chance to reconnect before getting caught up in the excitement.
Lail and Neiku exchanged traditional and Baha’i vows in front of a floral arch that “gave so much joy to [her] ceremony,” according to Lail, who thanked florist Dark and Diamond. Another highlight of their perfect day was Manshadi’s wedding soundtrack, which she hasn’t stopped singing since.
What is Nieku Manshadi’s background?
Manshadi has always desired to work in a field that allows him to serve people, and he was inspired to become a dentist by an amazing dentist he knew as a child.
He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific and completed a two-year pediatric dental residency at Boston University. He enjoys dealing with kids and tries to make dental visits fun for his young patients and their parents.
He is board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, which allows him to treat kids with unique needs and give oral conscious sedation for individuals who suffer from anxiety.
Manshadi also travels to locations with insufficient health care to offer his skills, which has led him to Ecuador and the Philippines. He is an ardent traveler who enjoys alpine skiing and learning about the food and culture of different nations.
