Tony Dow, who rose to fame alongside Jerry Mathers as Wally Cleaver in Leave It to Beaver, has led a quiet existence since the turn of the century. He’s kept a low profile and maintained a tranquil family life.
Christopher Dow, the actor’s son, appears to be following in father footsteps. He doesn’t have a large online presence.
Christopher lives a quiet life, but occasionally joins his father on his social outings.
The Personal Life of Tony Dow
Tony has had two marriages throughout his life. Carol Marie Theresa Marlow was his first wife, whom he married on June 14, 1969.
They had Christopher T. Dow, their only child, while they were together. On March 26, 1973, he became a member of the family.
The marriage of Tony and Carol could only last 11 years. In 1978, they filed for divorce, which was finalized on March 10, 1980. He married Lauren Shulkind, his second wife, just months after divorcing his first wife.
Lauren and Tony met in late 1978 in Kansas City. She was working on a commercial for a McDonald’s restaurant. Lauren was seeking an “all-American guy,” and Tony was the ideal candidate.
As a result, he was hired. She was successful in obtaining him. Lauren told Reuters in October 2010: “I cast him in my life.”
On June 16, 1980, they married. His IMDb page states that he and his wife have one child. However, no additional information is offered.
Lauren is a mosaic artist, and it appeared that she pushed him to continue with his childhood interest in arts and sculpture.
When Tony was younger, he experimented with pastels and oil paints. However, when his acting career grew, he no longer had time to pursue them.
He renewed his hobbies after becoming 60. He started sculpting. The money wasn’t as good as it had been in show industry, but it was more personally satisfying.

Christopher Dow, Tony Dow’s son
Tony has never been one to divulge too much information about himself. Over the years that he has been in the spotlight, he has kept his wife and family a closely guarded secret. And it appears that his son Christopher has made the same decision.
In 1985, he tried his hand at acting in The New Leave It to Beaver, a spinoff of the original Leave It to Beaver. Christopher has appeared on the show three times. In 1985, he played McGregor in his debut film.
Then, in 1988, he played Wally Cleaver, a 1963 version of his father’s character. In 1989, he reprised his role as a 16-year-old Wally. After that, he quit acting for good and hasn’t been in the news since 1991.
On September 23, 1991, Christopher lost his mother’s 1971 Porsche. He neglected to put the top down and left the car in the ignition at Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.
He was 18 at the time, and the next day he exacted his vengeance on the robbers. On the street, he discovered a 16-year-old boy pushing a Porsche.
Rather than dealing with the situation gently, he placed the child in a headlock and kept him safe until the police arrived.
Tony thought his son’s actions were “very fantastic,” and even admitted to the Los Angeles Times that he or his on-screen persona may have done differently.
Christopher currently only appears alongside his father on rare occasions. He does, however, spend time with him and his daughter Tyla on a regular basis.
