Mary Bruce and her husband Phil Levis are expecting their second child. In March 2021, the ABC News senior White House correspondent disclosed that she was expecting her second child, a baby girl, and flaunted her pregnant bump in an interview with People.
Bruce, who already has a three-year-old boy with her husband, said she was “extremely pleased” to find she would be having a daughter.
“My kid is ecstatic to be a big brother and introduce all of his toys to his sister,” she said. “All we can do now is hope that the enthusiasm continues. He’s even making suggestions for names.”
She also said that she covered the 2020 US Presidential election and took on a new duty to cover the White House during the pandemic — and, more crucially, while pregnant.
“Never in a million years did I think I’d be spending a week in a Delaware parking lot with the Biden campaign, reporting around the clock on every twist and turn as the results came in (all without coffee!),” Bruce remarked.
She and her family, on the other hand, felt extremely lucky and grateful to be healthy and to be able to grow their family at the same time. Bruce and her husband welcomed their first child, a son, into the world on June 24, 2018.
The ABC journalist, who disclosed her pregnancy when she was one month pregnant, confirmed the news with a lovely photo of her kid on Instagram.
She ultimately disclosed her son’s name as Elvis on Instagram about 5 months later. Baby Elvis was photographed on October 31, 2018, wearing a full-sleeved white shirt and large black glasses.
Bruce has been active on Instagram for some years and frequently posts images of her son, demonstrating her affection for him.
Bruce revealed to People that she and her husband had always planned to have a second child when she announced her second pregnancy.
“Three years seemed like a reasonable age gap,” she explained.
Phil Levis, my husband, and I married in 2013
Bruce and her husband, Levis, have been enjoying a happy married life with their preschooler son and a second baby on the way.
On September 7, 2013, in front of friends and family, Bruce and Levis exchanged wedding vows. According to reports, the pair met in 2017.
Despite the fact that her husband’s identity is kept confidential and he does not have a social media account, she frequently exhibits him on Instagram. Levis is a public affairs executive as well as an associate vice president at PhRMA. Every year on Valentine’s Day, he celebrates his birthday.
Bruce uploaded a photo of her wedding day on September 7, 2019, to commemorate the sixth year of her marriage to Levis. “It’s been six years! Each one is better than the one before it “she wrote in the caption.
