Liberte Chan was born in Los Angeles, California on June 15th. She has Chinese ancestors, and her great grandfather was Jiang Guangnai, the highest-ranking General in Command of the 19th Route Army, which defended China during World War I.
Her mother is Chinese, but her father is of European descent. The reporter grew up with two elder brothers and competed professionally in figure skating during her adolescence. Her exact age, however, is unknown.
