After an eight-year engagement, Jason Segel made headlines in April 2021 when he broke up with his longtime girlfriend, Alexis Mixter.
However, speculations have surfaced that the 41-year-old actor has found himself a new partner, just two months after their reportedly peaceful breakup. Jason Segel Is Supposedly Dating a Second Time Moi, a popular Instagram gossip group, recently responded to a follower who claimed to be interested in learning more about Segel’s “new girlfriend.”
Moi confirmed that she’d heard Segel was seeing a female from the East Coast who’d recently moved to LA in her reaction. She went on to say that the mystery woman wasn’t from the industry and that she had met him in Ojai.
Given that the assertions made by an anonymous woman’s gossip page are user-submitted and not fact-checked, these bold statements should be regarded with a grain of salt. Still, credible sources like Elle have labeled her “The Internet’s Best Gossip,” so there’s that.
Unbeknownst to many, when he and Mixter were still dating, the How I Met Your Mother star traveled to Ojai to “deprogram” his LA lifestyle and live a low-key life.
During an appearance on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, the actor stated that he originally rented an orange grove there to study a book while preparing for a film he was working on.
He eventually decided to relocate down there permanently because he appreciated being away from the noise and bustle of the metropolis. He remarked that just being there brought him joy.

In April 2021, the couple split up
Segel and Mixter, who were once lovers, confirmed their breakup in a touching Instagram post on her account. The post included a cute photo of the former couple, who were dressed casually and leaned on each other while looking into the camera.
The 42-year-old artist added in the caption that it was a portrait of two best friends before admitting that they had lived so much of their lives together and had transformed each other on a “soul deep level.”
Mixter went on to say that she never expected their friendship to grow that strong. She wrote,
I’ve never spent so much time with another person, grown so much with them, laughed, wept, and shared so much with them.
She also emphasized that their breakup was not a spur-of-the-moment decision, but rather a conscious decision to grow away from their love history and into the future, welcoming change as it happened.
She clarified later in her lengthy article that her statements were not meant to be interpreted as a breakup announcement. Instead, it was a celebration of love and camaraderie, which made life worthwhile.
“With every cell in my body, I will never stop cheering you on,” she said. “I will never cease loving you without reservation.”
Segel and Mixter started dating in December 2013, but for the first three years of their relationship, they kept their romance private. They first came out as a couple in 2016, when they walked the red carpet together at a Sean Penn-hosted gala.
