Garry Meier, best known as an active radio personality, worked in the media for 45 years. At the age of 23, he began his career as a DJ for WFYR. Garry worked as an overnight DJ for networks such as WYEN and WLUP after working there for a year. Garry met morning DJ Steve Dahl at WLUP and decided to start a radio show with him.
The show eventually took the name The Steve & Garry Show. The show was a stepping stone for the radio duo, as it received high ratings on WLUP. With the success of the show, Garry and Steve organized the Disco Demolition Night event. The main goal of the event was to put an end to disco for good.
However, after several years of fame and success, the show was cancelled. Garry then spent a year hosting his show on WLUP and working as a reporter. However, he left the network in 1995 and relaunched The Roe & Garry Show with Roe Cann. Like before, the show was well-liked and popular, and it ran for eight years.
Garry started an online podcast show in 2015 after gaining experience from other networks such as WCKG and WGN. He now earns an average of $44,000 per year.

Garry was born in the United States on December 2, 1949, into an Army family. He grew up in Oak Forest and attended Tinley Park High School before graduating in 1968. Garry attended pharmacy school with the intention of becoming a pharmacist, but he was unable to obtain a degree in the field.
