When Francine Valli died in 1980, things changed forever in the Valli family, especially for father Frankie Valli. Six months prior, the singer’s stepdaughter, Celia, had died after falling off a fire escape. As a result, the death of his beloved daughter could not have occurred at a more inconvenient time, as it caused great sadness in the family.
Valli’s family discovered Francine dead on August 16, 1980, at her home in New Jersey. While there was speculation in the media about the cause of death, there were rumors everywhere. Many people assumed she committed suicide or died of pneumonia. Surprisingly, the real reason was that Frankie’s daughter died due to a drug overdose. In fact, she died as a result of complications from mixing Quaaludes and alcohol.
Valli’s parents should be held accountable for their daughter’s death at a young age because they were aware of Francine’s drug use. They did their best to help her by sending her to a rehabilitation facility, but it wasn’t enough. It’s a pity the world lost such a gifted singer at a young age.
