Foo Fighters’ Vocalist-Guitarist Dave Grohl Compares the Cute Drummer Nandi Bushell with The Beatles and Pink Floyd!

It is possible for dreams to come true. When 11-year-old drummer Nandi Bushell realized her ambition of performing on stage with her musical hero and Foo Fighters vocalist Dave Grohl, she presumably felt the same way.

Nandi Bushell performed the drums for the band during their live concert at The Forum in Inglewood, California on August 27, 2021, when they recreated their 1997 song “Everlong.”

“It actually occurred!!! It was #EXTREMELYEXTREMELYEXTREMELYE @foofighters, thank you very much!!! Jamming with you at @TheForum was the best night of my life! Mr. Grohl and Taylor, thank you so much! #foofighters, #foofighters, #foofighters, “She expressed herself on Twitter.

Her parents believed in her abilities

When Bushell’s parents, John and Lungi, gave her a toy drum kit, they observed that she had a natural ability to play the drums. She was only five years old at the time, yet she managed to amaze John, who had been drumming since he was a teenager.

While he was resolved to let her pursue her passion and take her music as far as she could, Lungi, a native of the coastal South African state of KwaZulu-Natal, wanted to guarantee that the couple’s children remained tied to their South African heritage.

Bushell also has a younger brother, Thomas, who is passionate about playing the guitar. The 8-year-old is a software developer, a footballer, and an art lover.

In 2019, the young talent rocketed to attention after a series of YouTube performances, one of which included a cover of ‘In Bloom,’ a song by Grohl’s previous band Nirvana.

During the outbreak, she shared another video of herself performing ‘Everlong,’ along with a drum-off challenge directed at her musical idol. Grohl learned about the video via his buddies, who were ecstatic to see someone challenging him to a drum duel.

“‘Isn’t it nice?’ I think. I just shrug it off. ‘No man, you have to step up,’ all my pals tell me. This is the genuine article. This is a battle of the drums “He told The Forum’s audience.

Bushell and Grohl eventually faced off in an epic online drum battle, with the younger drummer triumphing over the legendary drummer. Following that, in September 2020, the Grammy Award-winning singer dedicated a song to Bushell, writing about her and her musical abilities. He also astonished her by inviting her to perform on stage with the band.

Compared with the Beatles and Pink Floyd

Grohl had some nice things to say about Bushell, who lives in Suffolk, England, while on stage. He referred to her as “the most badass drummer in the world” before complimenting her on being on par with the rock bands he has worked with over the years, including The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and The Rolling Stones.

Over the years, [the Foo Fighters] have had the privilege of jamming with some pretty incredible people. There are some Beatles, [Rolling] Stones, and Pink Floyds. This one, though, takes the cake. The 52-year-old singer joked that it was the first time he had met his “arch-nemesis,” praising Bushell’s abilities.
