Riley Norah Tracy- Early Life
Riley Norah Tracy was born on July 5, 2008, in Los Angeles, California. She will be 15 years old in 2023. She arrived at 11:39 a.m. on Saturday, weighing 8 pounds and measuring 21 inches in length.
Noreen Bernadette (O’Kane) and Francis Lawrence O’Donnell, her maternal grandparents, were doctors and US Army officers, respectively.
Riley has Irish ancestors on her mother’s side, with roots in Derry, Belfast, and Donegal (meaning she is descended from both sides of the Irish Border). Her maternal great-grandparents were all immigrants, and her maternal great-grandfather spent 16 years in the United States illegally. Furthermore, Riley’s father is Irish-American as well.

Riley is the youngest child of Norah and Geoff. On May 18, 2007, the couple welcomed twins Grace and Henry into the world. According to O’Donnell in Baby Love, Grace is the eldest and a minute older than her womb-mate, Henry. While growing up, Henry, on the other hand, was the most powerful member of the family.
Grace was overflowing with passion and energy as a youngster, and she modeled herself after her Granny Franny. Norah characterizes her as a caring young lady who is genuinely concerned about everyone’s feelings in the room. She used to love leaping off of just about everything as a kid, and she was often covered in bruises and skinned knees from playing at the park.
Grace, like her younger sister, is a good eater who likes yogurt, pancakes, and sparkling water. Norah and Geoff’s first child’s favorite colors are purple and pink. In fact, for a brief period in her childhood, she believed that she owned everything pink.
Hank the Tank is Henry’s nickname among the family. He was born with a lesser stature than his identical twin sister. As a newborn, he had a furrowed brow that made him appear more serious than a baby should.
Henry has the most gorgeous red hair, according to his mother, and has grown into a very handsome and strong child, according to the book. He was the first of the three to figure out how to open a door and how to start the minivan’s ignition with the key.
Norah and Geoff’s only child enjoys playing guitars, watering flowers, riding scooters, vacuuming, and hunting acorns. Grace informed him that blue is his favorite color. Henry’s favorite foods are bananas and raisins, though he eventually developed a craving for Daddy’s restaurant’s fresh pasta and marinara.

Riley’s parents have a lot of success
Norah O’Donnell, Riley’s mother, is the current anchor of the CBS Evening News. She is also a correspondent for CBS’ morning show, Face the Nation, and 60 Minutes.
In April 2020, O’Donnell’s newscast had 7,437 million views, earning her the most-watched woman in national television news. The mother of three was previously the co-anchor of CBS This Morning and spent over a decade at NBC News.
The 47-year-old earned two Emmys, one in 2008 as part of NBC News’ Election Night coverage team and the other in 2011. The other was for her six-month investigation and report for CBS This Morning on Sexual Assault in the Air Force Academy.
Her father is a famous chef
Riley’s father, Geoff Tracy, has a long list of titles and accolades, much like her mother. Her father is a celebrity chef as well as a renowned restaurant owner. He owns around six restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area alone, as well as restaurants in Virginia, Maryland, and a few other states.
The Best Neighbor Award, Chef of the Year Award, RAMMY Award for “Hottest Restaurant Bar Scene,” “Best Restaurant in Chevy Chase,” and “Best Local Chef,” among others, are just a few of his honors.
Riley’s parents collaborated on a book called Baby Love, which became a New York Times Best Seller. They also own a $3.2 million property in Wesley Heights, Washington, D.C.

On June 8, 2001, Riley’s parents, Geoff and O’Donnell, married. They met for the first time at Georgetown University, when they were both students. They were engaged at a dinner at Thomas Keller’s renowned restaurant, French Laundry, in Yountville, California.
O’Donnell revealed in an interview that she and Tracy painted the walls of Tracy’s first restaurant jointly since they couldn’t hire painters or contractors.
Riley and her siblings are only given a small amount of screen time. Norah told CBS Watch Magazine that she and her husband make sure their children, including Riley, have limited phone usage. O’Donnell has stated that she would like to do a series on the subject.
She went on to say that it’s the most pressing concern for most parents, and it has to do with their children’s health and well-being.
No phones after 8:30 p.m. or at breakfast, lunch, or supper, according to Tracy and O’Donnell’s regulations. They also restrict their youngsters from talking on their phones while driving.
They don’t have phones in the house because they have to talk to one another, and they have a device in the house that allows them to text us after an hour or an hour and a half, but it turns off everything else.

Norah told Posh Seven about a time when Riley gave her the best mom moment. She remembered the time when the Today program called and asked for a segment on Sarah Palin’s new book while she was putting her three children to bed.
O’Donnell was in serious trouble since he didn’t have a babysitter. She put Elmo on and sat her kids in front of the television. She hid in the nursery’s corner with her computer and blackberry.
Grace used the portable potty to urinate as the anchor-mom was composing her tale. Riley, then one, ran up to the potty, grabbed it up, and hurled the entire pot across the room seconds after she finished. As a result, the nursery was drenched in pee.
