Eugenia Cooney made headlines recently, but not for the usual reasons. She is a YouTuber and Twitch streamer who is frequently chastised for her appearance.
On February 18, 2022, Eugenia Cooney was banned from Twitch, dividing the internet. According to reports, the ban was imposed because of a nip slip she had while streaming.
Many thought Eugenia Cooney was flashing, while the other half assumed it was just a wardrobe malfunction. Finally, Cooney took to YouTube to explain what happened to her and why she was banned from Twitch.
Eugenia Cooney’s Twitch Ban Is the Result of a Nip Slip
Cooney was temporarily banned from Twitch for the first time. Many people assumed the ban was imposed because she glorified eating disorders.
She has admitted to having eating disorders, but she claims she never glorifies them.
Regardless, numerous petitions have been circulated to deplatform Cooney and have her removed from social media platforms such as YouTube and Twitch.
When Cooney received her first suspension, fans assumed it was due to all of the petitions. However, it was later revealed that the Twitch ban was due to her nip slip or unintentional flashing.
Rich Lux, a drama commentator, contacted Cooney after she was banned and inquired about the situation. She confirmed via DMs that she was temporarily banned for a day due to a nip slip.
It was because a fan asked to see her makeup up close while she was streaming live. So, as she leaned forward, a wardrobe malfunction occurred, and her strapless dress slipped.
As a result, she accidentally and unintentionally flashed to her platform fans and was thus banned. Furthermore, the video of her wardrobe malfunction was widely publicized and taken out of context.
Twitch, however, did not confirm the reason for the ban. After a day, seven minutes, and 28 seconds, Cooney was unbanned from the platform.
The explanation for Eugenia Cooney’s Flashing
Cooney posted a video to her YouTube channel titled ‘I Got BANNED…I’m Sorry’ on February 20, 2022. She said the same thing she told Lux there.
She understood why she was banned from Twitch for one day and apologized. She claimed, however, that the nip slip was unintentional, and that when she realized it, she stopped the stream.
But the damage had already been done. The video of her unintentional flashing was shared on various channels, and Cooney removed one of the videos from YouTube.
She clarified that she did so because she did not want her wardrobe malfunction to be publicized in such a negative light. She took the clip down to protect herself after it was taken out of context.
Many people claimed that Cooney’s wardrobe malfunction was not her first. She had previously flashed, according to the streamer, but she had no reason to stream her nip slip.
She insisted that she had done nothing on purpose and that everything had happened by chance. She confirmed that she loved the platform and her followers too much to jeopardize her career.
She also denied any rumors that she had secret deals for flashing on stream. Finally, she apologized to Twitch and her followers and thanked them for their support.
