Since he founded KC and the Sunshine Band in 1973, the guy known to millions as KC has been producing hits.
He had little success with his first two songs, ‘Blow Your Whistle’ in 1973 and ‘Sound Your Funky Horn’ in 1974, before releasing ‘Get Down Tonight’ in 1975, which became a huge smash in the United States.
Casey did, however, take a break from making music with his band from time to time and released a number of pop-oriented solo albums.
After a major vehicle accident in January 1981, he had an extended break, followed by another car accident that left him partially paralyzed for six months.
He didn’t let that, however, stop him from pursuing his passion for music. That drive motivated him to get back on his feet and entertain his music fans.

He began taking piano lessons at the age of 13 or 14 and then worked at a local record store, determined to get into the music industry. In the hopes of obtaining his big break and recording a song, he even opened boxes at Tone Record Distributors and hovered about a local recording studio.
