Demna Gvasalia is a co-founder of Vetements and a Georgian fashion designer. He currently serves as the creative director of Balenciaga.
In 2006, Gvasalia partnered with Walter van Beirendonck on his men’s collections. He joined Maison Martin Margiela in 2009 and oversaw the women’s collections till 2013.

Furthermore, Demna moved when he was 12 years old, fleeing the country’s tragic civil war, and has been a resident of Düsseldorf since 2001. Guram Gvasalia is his younger brother.
The 40-year-old studied international economics for four years at Tbilisi State University before attending the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp to get a Master’s Degree in Fashion Design in 2006.
