IAS Officer Chandni Chandran is the Director of School Education and State Project Director of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Tripura. Chandran is also a social worker and a motivational speaker. Chandni is from Angamaly, Kerala, India, and is a member of the 2017 batch.
Chandra drew the attention of the audience when she posted a photo of herself with her boyfriend Arun Sudarsan on Facebook in 2016, just as the IAS exam results were about to be released, which was later published in The Times of India newspaper.
She posted it to her Twitter account on June 29, 2021, explaining that it was taken while she was stressing out in the rain with her then-boyfriend, that they are now happily married, and that she used the photo as a challenge and was chosen for IAS the following year. Many other IAS officers congratulated them and wished them continued happiness.

After passing the IAS, she married Arun Sudarsan, an Economist & Policy Researcher at Civic Data Lab and former NITI Aayog YP. The couple met and fell in love while studying at IIT Madras, where they were both in the same college.
After a random photo of them in the rain went viral, they were both featured in the TOI newspaper. Their family was also informed about them. The couple did not lose hope and persevered in their efforts to become partners. In a stunning south Indian-style ceremony, they exchanged vows.
Her husband, Arun, previously stated that due to COVID-19 and their hectic schedule, they will be unable to celebrate their wedding anniversary together. The couple does not have any children at this time. They will celebrate their wedding anniversary on May 14th.

After completing her education in Humanities and Social Sciences and her training at LABSNAA, Chandni passed the Civil Services Examination in 2016. (Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration).
She was later assigned to the South Tripura district as an Assistant Collector. Chandni is the State Project Director of Tripura’s Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and the Director of School Education.
She travels to various schools and colleges as a motivational speaker and role model for many young women. She also teaches and conducts seminars. Aside from that, she is socially active during the pandemic, assisting those in need.
