Camille Grammer, star of ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’ can better answer that, as her financial situation improved following her divorce.
Today, let’s learn about Camille’s personal life, including her problems with abuse, disease, and her divorce, which significantly reduced her net worth!
Camille Grammer’s $30 Million Divorce:
Camille married American actor/producer/director/writer Kelsey Grammer in 1997 in Malibu, California. Additionally, they were blessed with two children, Mason Olivia (16) and Jude Gordon (13), who was born via surrogate mothers.
Their marriage, however, began to unravel when Camille was filming “RHOBH” and Kelsey was having an extramarital affair with a British flight attendant, Kayte Walsh.
Camille filed for divorce on July 1, 2010, after discovering her spouse was unfaithful to her. She sought primary physical custody of their children, as well as spousal maintenance.
Camille alleged Kelsey of physical and verbal abuse in the divorce filings. Later that year, in an October 29, 2010 interview with PEOPLE, she disclosed how she discovered her husband was cheating on her. As she put it,
” In June I got a phone call from a mutual friend in New York who was upset by behavior of his that she’d seen. I asked, “Is he leaving me?” and she said, “Yes.” I called him but couldn’t get through, so I texted him and asked him to please call me. Nothing. An hour later, I texted him again and he wrote: “I don’t want to talk.” I wrote, “We’ve been together for 14 years; I deserve an explanation.” Finally, three hours later, he called me. He basically said, “I don’t want to be married anymore.”
She also revealed that Kesley was a difficult man to date and that she is looking forward to her future.
” I was scared at first, and there’s still fear. But I’m excited about my future. That sounds weird, I know. But Kelsey was a very difficult man to have a relationship with. I miss him, but I don’t want to look back anymore. Everything is new. I’m excited about rediscovering myself and becoming independent again. “
Camille’s divorce was formalized on February 10, 2011, and less than two weeks later, Kelsey, Camille’s ex-husband, married his new love, Kayte.
Camille’s divorce, however, not only liberated her from an unhappy marriage but also tied her money account. According to TMZ, she was awarded a stunning $30 million in her September 2012 divorce deal with Kesley.
Camille received a 50% share in the total property in their marriage, which comprised their three properties. Additionally, TMZ reported that Camille deserved the money because she was the one who aided Kelsey in overcoming his bad judgments and drug problems in order to advance in his career.
Additionally, Camille was recently awarded 50% of Kelsey’s retirement fund in early November 2017. Camille now has a net worth of $50 million.
Camille moved on from her unsuccessful marriage in November 2011 and began dating attorney Dimitri Charalambopoulos.
The couple also experienced passionate moments in September 2011 at Camille’s 43rd birthday party. Camille continued to open up, expressing her happiness with her new romance. She stated,
“I am very happy. He is just an incredible person. We met after filming, so you won’t see him on the show. We have been seeing each other for about four months now. He is also a wonderful father, he has a son. I am just so happy and grateful!”
Although they appeared to be a happy couple, Camille endured considerable difficulty when Dimitri revealed himself to be an aggressive boyfriend. Dimitri allegedly left her with bruises on her face and hands and also destroyed her phone in a Houston hotel room, according to reports.
Camille sought a protective order against him in October 2011, and after a protracted legal struggle, she obtained a $121,000 legal win against her ex-boyfriend in March 2016.
Camille rekindled her romance the following year in Malibu with attorney David C. Meyer. And in October 2017, after dating for more than a year, David got down on one knee to propose to Camille. They have remained a happily engaged couple ever since!
According to recent reports, David is still legally married to his former wife, Wendy Meyer, who has also accused him of violence in court records.
Additionally, as of November 21, 2017, the Los Angeles County records indicated that David and his estranged wife were not legally divorced.
Camille has yet to respond to the situation, leaving the great question of how it will affect her relationship with David!
Camille’s Battle With Cancer:
Camille endured a significant medical ailment, cancer, in addition to surviving a failed marriage and an abusive relationship. She was diagnosed with stage 2 endometrial cancer in September 2013 and underwent radical hysterectomy on October 11 of that year.
Camille revealed to LifeScript about the day she discovered she had cancer.
” I was shocked and numb. That day was surreal. Cancer had always been in the back of my mind because I had the genetic mutation. But I had still always hoped I wouldn’t develop it. I was alone when I got that news and just sat there in disbelief. I didn’t want to cry in front of the doctor and I tried to listen to him as he told me he didn’t know what stage I had. That couldn’t be determined until after my surgery.”
Although she was taken aback by the cancer news, she was skeptical that she would contract the disease through her mother’s DNA. In 2012, she revealed that her mother had also been diagnosed with ovarian, colon, and bladder cancer. She exclaimed,
“My mom was diagnosed at the age of 46 with ovarian cancer and she was in late stage two, heading into stage three, and had a tumor about the size of a small grapefruit. So they opted for the full hysterectomy and during the surgery they realized that the cancer had spread to some of the lymph nodes on her abdominal region and area, so they had to remove that. Then she went through months of chemotherapy and radiation.”
However, both of them were lucky enough to battle the heinous disease and emerge as cancer survivors! However, Camille’s grandma was unable to defeat stomach and colon cancer!
