Broadway Star Cush Jumbo Married Her Husband On Stage!

Thanks to her portrayal as Lucca Quinn on CBS’s The Good Wife and its blockbuster spin-off, The Good Fight, Cush Jumbo has risen to notoriety in the television business in recent years. Despite all of the attention she has received, she maintains her personal life private.

Sean Griffin, her husband, and their almost three-year-old son, Maximilian Griffin, are topics she rarely discusses.

Unconventional Wedding of Cush Jumbo and Her Husband

On December 27, 2014, Jumbo and her hubby tied the knot. Before they started dating, the two had been friends for a long time. Cush Jumbo sends her best wishes to her spouse on their third wedding anniversary.

“I never thought he liked me,” the actress laughed, but as her career took off in the United States, her husband abandoned everything and moved to be with her.

The pair married in New York, and she chose an offbeat wedding instead of the usual celebrity spectacular. On a Broadway stage, they exchanged vows. The Good Wife star shared a snapshot from their wedding day on their third anniversary.

“About 3 years ago, after my matinee of #theriver on this broadway stage, I married this gorgeous man,” she wrote in the post. It’s still the most important, courageous, and rewarding thing I’ve ever done. #justdoit.”

Jumbo’s act of bravery was quite admirable.

Cush Jumbo Gets Married

The couple was rumored to be expecting their first child in 2017. In January 2018, she confirmed to ET at the Critics’ Choice Awards. She was six months pregnant with her kid at the time. Michelle and Robert King, the show’s writers, included her pregnancy into the episode, she disclosed.

“It’s been amazing because the show’s writers, the Kings, have incorporated it into the program, so Lucca and I are both pregnant,” the actress revealed.

Jumbo welcomed their son, Maximilian, a few months later, in April, which she announced on Instagram with a photo of her son gripping someone’s thumb.

“My little kid finally made his real-life arrival after excellently imitating Lucca’s baby bump on @thegoodfight for six months,” she captioned the shot.

She went on to say that her son was “exactly as beautiful as his father.”

The actress frequently posts photos of herself and her husband spending time with their son.

Cush Jumbo Was Once Mistaken For A Nanny

Jumbo was once mistaken for her son’s babysitter when out and about in New York City with her son. In a 2019 interview with The Advocate, the actress recounted the encounter. “She was ashamed that she’d mistaken me for someone else. Jumbo described her as “embarrassed, unhappy, and sorry.”

An episode of The Good Fight depicted this incident, in which her character Lucca was mistaken for her baby’s nanny by an American mother. The story in the series was more dramatic than her real-life experience.

Lucca was eventually summoned by the woman. Jumbo added that she would never have had that experience if she had been in London because the nannies there were not people of race.

However, nannies in New York, according to the actress, were nearly exclusively women of color.
