The Death of Brittany Murphy
Brittany Murphy died on December 20th, 2009, at her Los Angeles home. After authorities arrived on the scene, firefighters attempted to resuscitate her. She passed away unexpectedly a few hours after being transferred to a local hospital. Her official cause of death was cardiac arrest.
Her death was investigated through an autopsy, but coroners determined that she died of natural causes. The official cause of death on her death certificate, however, was listed as “delayed.” Her primary cause of death was pneumonia, according to authorities months later. The situation was made worse by anemia and drug abuse.
Brittany was discovered to be taking a variety of prescription and over-the-counter medications prior to her death. Despite the fact that she was not taking the medications recreationally, but rather to treat a cold, the police stated that the combination of these drugs could have been harmful.
Despite the fact that the mystery surrounding her death appeared to be solved, her surviving husband, Simon Monjack, was later found dead in the same house under similar circumstances. According to reports, he died of pneumonia and anemia as well. People immediately began to wonder if the deaths were caused by something inside the house, such as mold. However, the coroner later ruled this out.
On the other hand, the 32-year-mother old’s later claimed that deadly mold was to blame for both deaths, and she went on to file a lawsuit against the home’s builder. Murphy’s father eventually came forward with a supposed toxicology result proving that his daughter had been “deliberately poisoned,” further complicating the case. Brittany Anne Murphy-Monjack was born on November 10th, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia. Her parents divorced when she was two years old, and her mother raised her alongside two half-brothers and a half-sister in a Baptist household in Edison, New Jersey. Even before she started high school, Brittany knew she wanted to work in the entertainment industry.
In 1991, the artist’s mother relocated her entire family to Los Angeles so that her daughter could pursue her dream career. Murphy asked her mother if they could relocate to Los Angeles in order for her to advance her career, and she agreed.
