- Between 1986 and 1987, Langford played Mel, a companion to both the Sixth and Seventh Doctors on the classic science fiction series Doctor Who. In 1993, she returned to the role for Dimensions in Time, a Doctor Who/EastEnders charity crossover episode that aired as part of the BBC’s Children in Need campaign. In several audio dramas, she has reprised her role as the Doctor with Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy.
- Langford co-hosted the classic BBC One light entertainment program The Hot Shoe Show with Wayne Sleep, where she was a featured dancer. On October 23, 2005, the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane presented Children Will Listen, a 75th birthday tribute to Stephen Sondheim.
- In 2018, she took over the lead role of Dorothy Brock in the West Conclusion production of 42nd Street, which ran until 5 January 2019. A recording from the end of the 2018 run was shown on PBS’s Great Performances in November 2019 as part of the third annual “Broadway’s Best” selection.
