Blake Shelton: Wedding With Gwen Was ‘The Greatest Gig’

After dating for five years, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani got engaged in 2020.

The country singer proposed on October 17 in his home state of Oklahoma, but a couple of Blake Shelton had been dating since November 2015.

The singers met on the TV show The Voice, where they are both coaches, and became close after their divorces.

In July 2015, Shelton broke the heartbreaking news of his divorce from Miranda Lambert to coaches Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, and Stefani.

It came as a surprise because they had been together for ten years and were well-known in the country music community.

Stefani and her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale went through the same thing a month later when they divorced after 13 years of marriage. Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo are their children.

Shelton and Stefani found solace in each other’s company during this difficult time because they could understand each other’s pain. They effectively consoled each other and grew closer.

Shelton admitted to ET that his fiancée is the best thing that has ever happened to him in an exclusive interview. He counted himself fortunate to have met her on The Voice.

In November 2015, the couple reconciled and officially admitted to being together.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s Relationship

They both went to the recording studio to express their joy and affection after failed marriages.

Stefani’s 2016 album This Is What the Truth Feels Like included a song dedicated to Shelton. She was “broken but fine,” and then she unexpectedly found love.

Two months later, Shelton collaborated with Stefani on their well-received song ‘Go Ahead and Break My Heart,’ which appears on his tenth studio album If I’m Honest.

Stefani expressed her wedding wishes to American Idol host Ryan Seacrest on his radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest.

The singer stated that all she wanted at this point was for her parents to be present. Her parents didn’t even attend Thanksgiving because they were too scared, so she’d rather postpone the wedding until the COVID-19 pandemic was under control.

In February, Shelton expressed similar concerns on Radio.com. He revealed that they had discussed when they wanted to hold the ceremony, but they didn’t know how to go about planning it.

“We’re not sure if we’ll be able to get it. It’s just one of those times that I hope we never, ever, ever have to go through again “He stated.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s Wedding

Shelton and his partner married on July 3, 2021, months after the interview. The wedding was held on an Oklahoma ranch with country-meets-camp aesthetics.

Shelton dressed in his trademark blue jeans, a black tuxedo, a white button-down shirt, and a matching bowtie. Stefani, on the other hand, wore two Vera Wang gowns.

She wore a gown with a plunging neckline and a tulle, high-low skirt for the main ceremony, as well as a chapel-length veil with the names of her husband and sons embroidered at the bottom.

For the reception, she wore a custom lily-white Italian silk crepe and hand tumbled tulle strapless mini dress.

Months later, on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, Shelton gushed about the lavish yet intimate ceremony. He said the wedding was the “greatest gig” he’d ever had.

Then he shared a photo from his wedding to commemorate their first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife.

“”I’m the luckiest man alive,” he began the Instagram post, before concluding, “Happy Valentine’s Day, @gwenstefani! I adore you!”
