Beastars’ Paru Itagaki Launches New Short Manga in Manga Goraku Magazine

Paru Itagaki will launch a new manga mini-series titled Bota Bota in the magazine’s next issue, according to the 2,739th issue of Nihonbungeisha’s Manga Goraku magazine, which was released on Friday.

The first chapter of the manga will be 34 pages long and feature a color opening page. The manga will also be featured on the front cover of the magazine. On Friday, Paru Itagaki shared two manga preview images on Twitter.

In September 2016, Itagaki debuted her BEASTARS manga in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shnen Champion. The manga ended on October 8, and the manga’s 21st volume was released on the same day by Akita Shoten.

In October 2019, the first television anime based on the manga premiered in Japan on Netflix, Fuji TV’s [+Ultra] programming block, and TV Nishinippon. Outside of Japan, the season premiered on Netflix on March 13. The anime’s second season will premiere in Japan on Fuji TV’s [+Ultra] programming block in January 2021.

In 2016, Itagaki released the Beast Complex manga in Weekly Shnen Champion. The manga was only published in one volume by Akita Shoten. On October 8, Weekly Shnen Champion announced that Itagaki will begin a new Beast Complex manga mini-series in the magazine in January 2021. The original Beast Complex manga has been licensed by Viz Media, and the first volume will be released in March 2021.
