‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Will Be Getting Another Live-Action Netflix Adaptation!

Avatar: The Last Airbender is widely regarded as one of the most successful animated series ever produced. From February 2005 until July 2008, it aired on Nickelodeon for three seasons.

The show garnered a lot of positive feedback from fans and won a lot of honors during its run, including Annie Awards, Genesis Awards, a Peabody Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award.

The series continues to be adored by fans all across the world to this day. It’s made its way around the internet, producing a slew of memes in the process. The Legend of Korra is the sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. It aired from 2012 to 2014 and lasted four seasons. Avatar: The Last Airbender was also turned into a live-action film, The Last Airbender, in addition to the sequel. It was directed by M. Night Shyamalan and cost $150 million to make.

It was a widely anticipated film before its debut in 2010, with many fans of the animated series eagerly anticipating it. Unfortunately, the film was a huge letdown when it was released. Despite grossing $131 million in the United States and another $188 million overseas, it garnered poor reviews and is often regarded as one of the worst live-action adaptations, alongside Dragonball: Evolution from 2009.

The Last Airbender received a 5 percent Tomatometer score and a 30% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The proposal for a trilogy was canceled as a result of the film’s failure, and it is often regarded as Shyamalan’s worst film.

Avatar Netflix Live-Action Adaptation

Despite the failure of The Last Airbender, Avatar: The Last Airbender is getting a new live-action version, this time from Netflix.

Albert Kim, who has worked on shows such as Sleepy Hollow, Deadly Class, and Nikita, will serve as the showrunner, executive producer, and writer for Avatar: The Last Airbender. According to a Netflix press release, Kim became addicted to Avatar: The Last Airbender because of his daughter and wanted to take other children on an exciting adventure through the live-action series.
