Autria was arrested in February 2017 for public intoxication and trespassing. The charge was brought against her after she was accused of getting into a fight in a bar.
Autria was asked to leave the venue after she began fighting, according to the police. However, after a brief absence, she returned, prompting the officers to arrest her.
It was unclear what happened that night at the bar, but according to one witness, she began jawing at the cops, which resulted in a formal charge.
Shamia Holloway, the WJLA’s community relations director, stated that the station would never comment on personnel or personal issues.
Godfrey was taken off the air for several days following the incident before returning to her professional work.
