Amy Sedaris has been in films and television series for more than three decades. She hasn’t been romantically linked to anyone for the majority of this time. The actress has previously stated that she has no interest in romance and is not interested in dating.
Over the years, though, Amy Sedaris has made up boyfriends and husbands, even discussing them on television and causing misunderstandings. She used to brag about a guy named Ricky with whom she had been dating for over a decade.
Ricky, on the other hand, did not exist and was invented by Sedaris. When she appeared on Late Night with David Letterman in May 2009, she was wearing a wedding band once more.
When asked about her spouse, Sedaris replied that his name was Glenn and that he worked as a merchant marine. However, she didn’t say whether she was joking or not, and many people assumed she had married quietly.
Letterman had just married Regina Lesko on March 19, 2009, and Sedaris subsequently admitted that she made up Glenn. βIt was just a Letterman thing,β says the narrator.
I figured since he had recently married, I would as well.β So far, comedian Paul Dinello is the only person known to have dated Sedaris.
Paul and Amy
When Sedaris and Dinello were both working at Chicago’s Second City, they met. They were together for eight years before splitting up.
Despite the fact that the two are no longer romantically linked, they remain close friends and have collaborated on various occasions. In 2003, Sedaris collaborated on the novel Wigfield alongside Dinello and Stephen Colbert.
Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People was written by the Elf actress and Dinello once again. Her TV show, At Home With Amy Sedaris, was inspired by the book, which became a New York Times bestseller craft guide.
Dinello’s sons, whom Sedaris and his wife, Danielle St. Laurent, welcomed, have Sedaris as their godmother. During an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in October 2017, she discussed how close she was to them.
I’m their godmother, and I’m in charge of their spiritual development… I have a lot of experience with them. You can inquire of Paul.
I got a mattress and placed it on the stairwell, and we were flying down on it last night. It was a lot of fun.
Amy Sedaris on Having Children Despite her closeness to her godchildren, Sedaris has no plans to start a family of her own.
In a December 2010 interview with The Globe And Mail, she admitted that she didn’t have enough patience for children and that they were causing her more problems than she desired.
The actress also stated that the only way she could see romance working for her in the future, if it ever did, would be if she began dating someone who piqued her interest.
