Amna Nawaz, Paul Werdel’s wife, is an American television journalist. She works for PBS NewsHour as a chief correspondent and substitute host.

Amna Nawaz worked as an anchor and correspondent for ABC News and NBC News before joining PBS in April 2018. Amna has received numerous awards, including an Emmy and a Society for Features Journalism award.

In 2001, the journalist earned a bachelor’s degree in politics, philosophy, and economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also co-captained the women’s varsity field hockey team. Career

When Amna Nawaz joined NBC in 2003, she began her career as a journalist. She went on to work as a documentary producer for NBC’s Dateline program. She worked as a producer for NBC’s investigative unit on the show Mortgage Crisis Investigations. In 2008, the program was nominated for an Emmy in the Business & Financial Reporting category.

In 2009, Paul Werdel’s Wife received funding from the International Reporting Project. Amna was nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy Award in 2010 for her work on the NBC News program Inside the Obama White House. She also worked as a correspondent and bureau head for NBC’s Islamabad bureau.

Nawaz joined ABC News in 2015. In 2016 and 2017, she was the anchor of the United States election and national political coverage. Amna co-hosted the ABC podcast Uncomfortable before joining PBS in April of this year. She co-moderated the Democratic Party’s presidential debate in the United States in December 2019.

Amna Nawaz is happily married to the love of her life, Paul Werdel. Paul and his lovely wife, Nawaz, were married in 2007. As time passes, their love grows even more vital. Even though her interracial marriage to American media journalist Paul Wardel defied Muslim conventions, she has been smiling every day since they met.

The couple is the proud parents of two beautiful daughters. Both Islam and Christianity are represented among the children’s religious affiliations. Before working in the conflict zone, Amna had to deal with morning sickness and mood swings. She was the first foreign journalist to be permitted entry into North Waziristan, which is located on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and is home to Al Qaeda and Taliban militants.
