Amanda Freitag is an American professional chef best known as a Chopped judge and the co-host of American Diner Revival. She is also the one who competed on Iron Chef America against Bobby Flay.
Amanda has been a fantastic chef over the years, both teaching and learning the art of cooking. Her personal life, however, is not as open as her professional life.

Amanda was born on May 11, 1972 in New Jersey, USA. Cathleen, her mother, was a Verizon manager, and Paul, her father, worked for a computer company.
She grew up in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, with her two brothers, Jason and Justin Freitag. Amanda attended Cedar Grove High School before attending the Culinary Institute of America and graduating in 1989.
She joined Vong New York shortly after graduation, working under French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Amanda left Vong New York in 1994 to work at Verbena. She later worked as a chef in Italy and France.
In 2003, she co-founded the Upper West Side restaurant Cesca Enoteca & Trattoria with restaurateur Godfrey Polistina. Cesca’s executive chef was Amanda. She then became the executive chef at The Harrison, where she worked until September 3, 2010.
Amanda not only worked as a chef, but she was also a regular judge on the cooking competition show Chopped. She also competed in Iron Chef America, where she faced off against Bobby Flay but lost by a point difference.
Amanda also competed in Season 2 of The Next Iron Chef and finished fourth. Following this, the chef announced that she would remain a Chopped judge for the 2010 season.
Amanda Battle Kale appeared on Iron Chef America in 2012, alongside Chopped Grand Champion Madison Cowan.
In that episode, she served as Madison Cowan’s sous chef. Amanda appeared on The Next Iron Chef in the same year and made it to the finale. Unfortunately, she was defeated by Alexandra Guarnaschelli in the final on December 23, 2012.
