Gabriel Macht is an American actor best known for his role as Harvey Specter in the drama series Suits (2011).
In the past, he has been in major studio-funded films alongside prominent performers such as Al Pacino, Collin Farrel, and Anne Hathway.
In 2018, he was among the guests invited to attend his friend Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding at Windsor Castle. He is Megan’s close friend because she was a cast member on the television show Suits. Interestingly, he was aware of her burgeoning relationship with Harry in its early stages.
Gabriel Macht- Early Life
Gabriel, full name Gabriel Stephen Macht, was born on January 22, 1972, in The Bronx, New York. At a young age, he relocated to California with his parents and three siblings. His father, Stephen Macht, is an actor as well, and his mother, Suzzane Victoria Pulier, is a museum curator.
The actor is of Ashkenazi Jewish background, as his father’s family were Russian immigrants, and his mother’s family were also Russian immigrants.
Education and Career
Gabriel has always been interested in the performing arts since he was a child. The actor attended Beverly Hills High School after coming to California at the age of five. He made his film debut at the age of eight in the film Why Would I Lie? (1980). He was nominated for the Best Young Motion Picture Actor Award a result of this.
He did, however, take a vacation from acting until he finished high school in order to focus on his schooling. After high school, he enrolled in the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in Pittsburgh and began acting in a variety of plays.
He eventually got his big break in acting thanks to the 2010 love film Love & Other Drugs. In the production, he collaborated with Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal.
Just then, he landed his breakout role in the television series Suits, where he played a pivotal role over the course of seven seasons.
Gabriel Macht’s Wife and Children
The actor is married to actress Jacinda Barrett, who was born in Australia. Surprisingly, she was also the actor’s on-screen love interest in the television series Suits. In 2004, the couple married out of love for one another.
The actor and his wife Jacinda have two children: Satine Anais Geraldine Macht (age 12) and Luca Macht (age 6). (age 5).
Gabriel has been on his wife Jacinda’s side since their marriage, even during her most contentious periods. She defended her ex-fiance, Chris Hardwick, when he was accused of sexual abuse by his ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra in 2018.
Jacinda showed her support for Chris, arguing that he had the same right to be heard as the accuser before passing judgment. While her assertion was rather contentious in the aftermath of the #metoo movement, Gabriel respected her opinion without interfering with her remarks as a husband.
