Gaetano Lisi and Katharine Ross divorced after nearly four years of marriage. However, after four years of joy, their relationship began to have marital issues. They split on December 31, 1979, after deciding to go their separate ways.

According to some web sources, Ross met her future husband, Sam Elliott, while still married to Gaetano Lisi. The future pair, Ross and Elliott, collaborated on the film The Legacy, which helped them become friends. After the filming, they continued to see each other and fell in love a few months later. After her divorce from Ross, Lisi looked to be single until his death in 2020. He may have secretly tied the knot, but no details have emerged thus far. According to a Facebook post announcing his death, Gaetano Lisi, Katharine’s ex-partner, is survived by his cousins Denise Lisi and Richard Lisi.
