Sarah Bond Produced a Documentary about Aaron’s Special Needs Brother
Pedersen and his brother Vinnie were raised in Alice Springs foster homes. Vinnie, who is a year younger than his older brother, suffers from cerebral palsy and has a moderate intellectual handicap.
When the actor was seven years old, he discovered his younger brother had special needs. Despite residing in foster homes and going through difficult times, Pedersen always made sure he cared after his brother with great care. His brother would love him more than anything else in the world in return.
He expressed his gratitude for having his sibling in the same interview with The Sydney Morning Herald. He further stated that having his own children is not an option for him because he considers his brother to be his child and wishes to devote his entire life to him.
In 2006, Pedersen and his partner produced My Brother Vinnie, a touching short documentary on the unshakable friendship between the two brothers. The documentary was written by Goldstone, directed by Steven McGregor, and co-produced by Bond.
“She treats him like a big sister and loves him as much as I do, and that’s all I ask. We arrived as a package, in a sense “Pedersen spoke to SMH about his partner’s involvement in caring for his sibling.
