Brad Gushue is a Canadian curler serving as his country’s skip.
For three years, he and his Gushue Team teammates held the world champion title. Brad did exceptionally well as an Olympian, winning a gold medal in the 2006 Games.

Brad Gushue was born on June 16, 1980, in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, and Labrador. He grew up in a household with his parents and a sister.
As a child, he was a gifted athlete who excelled in a variety of sports. After seeing curling on television, he was inspired to try it. Brad also begged his parents to let him participate in the curling training.

As a skip, he also won the provincial championships four years in a row. Brad took bronze in the 1999 Canada Junior Curling Championships and silver in the 2000 Games.
He did not, however, compete in the world junior championships until 1998. He won gold at the Canadian Juniors and the World Junior Championships in 2001.
He competed in the mixed doubles championship with his daughter in 2020. The father-daughter team won a silver medal.
Brier Competitions
Brad’s professional career was boosted by his appearances in the Brier Tournaments. So far, he has competed in 18 Briers, representing his home province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
After a stellar junior career, Brad had an easy time breaking into professional teams. He qualified for the Nokia Brier for the first time in 2003, going 6-5.
With an 8-4 record, Nokia Brier had previously established themselves as one of Canada’s best curlers. In 2005, he and his team won the Tim Horton’s Brier once more, this time by a score of 6-5.
He finished second in the Tim Horton Brier for the second time in 2007. Unfortunately, the Gushue team did not qualify for the following year.

He bounced back in 2015, finishing a respectable second. After a nine-year losing streak, he returned to the finals in 2016 but finished second. After a string of defeats, the Gushue team eventually won the 2017 Brier.
The team won the championship game 7-6. Gushue was named the Brier’s most successful skipper in 2018.
Olympics
Brad made his only Olympic appearance in 2006, winning gold. Furthermore, he was overjoyed to be able to represent his team on such a large stage alongside other outstanding teams.
At the time, he was joined by another outstanding curler, Russ Howard, who had taken over for Mike Adam. The Gushue team qualified for the final trial by defeating Jeff Stoughton’s team.

Gushue finished second at the 2005 Players’ Championship. Then, in 2008, he reached the semi-finals of the Masters. He also advanced to the National finals.
In the 2009-10 season, he won his first Grand Slam title by defeating Randy Ferby in the National finals. He also reached the Canadian Open and National finals in the 2013-2014 season.
In 2015, he also won The Nationals, the Player’s Championship, and the Elite 10. This was his best year yet, as he won three grand slams in a row.
He went on to win the Meridian Canadian Open in 2017, his seventh Grand Slam title. He won the Masters of Curling for the second time in 2017.
Finally, he had reached the Grand Slam finals 19 times as of 2019. He then won the Elite 10 in September.
