Koren Grieveson, an award-winning chef and television personality, made waves in 2012 when news of her engagement to a fellow chef, Anne Burrell, leaked.
Grieveson and Burrell’s connection was well-known, but their engagement was unexpected. Even though the couple had wedding plans, a more considerable surprise awaited them soon after they parted ways.
Koren Had Plans To Marry Fiancée
In 2012, Grieveson married Anne Burrell in Vieques, Puerto Rico.
Even though the chef never made an official declaration about her relationship, her partner, Burrell, was very public about it. She was the one who broke the news to them about their engagement.

Burrell announced her engagement to Koren Grieveson on December 31, 2012, while wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
On January 31, 2013, Burrell stated to Entertainment Tonight that they were planning a wedding for about 2018. She said they were even planning to marry in Vieques, Puerto Rico.
We have to talk about it, I think we’re thinking of a destination wedding, maybe in Vieques, [Puerto Rico]. That’s where we got engaged, and the first time we ever traveled together was to [Vieques], so it’s kind of a special spot for us.
Grieveson even relocated from Chicago to New York after the engagement to be with her lover. Despite the move and wedding plans, the chef-couple never made it through their engagement. They went their separate ways.
Where are Anne Burell and Koren Grieveson Now?
Burrell is now engaged to Stuart Claxton after calling off her engagement with Grieveson. PEOPLE initially published the story in April 2020. According to the magazine, Burrell and Claxton had been dating for two years before Claxton proposed.
Grieveson, on the other hand, maintains a private life and avoids the media.
Koren Grieveson Served in the US Military
Koren Grieveson was born in the South African city of Luanda in 1971.
She had to move around because her father was in the poultry industry. Before settling in America with her family, she lived in nations such as Zimbabwe, Iran, Brazil, and England.
Grieveson began his career in the United States military, where he served for eight years. She then went to the Culinary Institute of America in New York to further her education.
After graduating in 1996, she began her career as a cook at “Spruce,” where she worked under Chef Keith Luce.
She continued working at Crofton on Wheel under Chef Suzy Cotton. Finally, she got her big break as a sous cook at Blackbird, working under chef Paul Kahan. Her time at the Blackbird under Paul Kahan’s tutelage led to a position as chef de cuisine at Avec.
She won the Food & Wine Best New Chef award in 2008 due to her experiences working under numerous chefs. In addition, she received the James Beard Award in 2010.
