Joni Ernst Relationship Status
Gail Ernst had previously been Joni’s wife. According to Gail’s Facebook page, the couple married on July 24, 1993. Their wedding took place in Savannah, Georgia. Gail’s ex-husband is a former military man, just like Joni. He served in the Army for 28 years, climbing through the ranks to become a Ranger and Drill Sergeant.

On their 25th wedding anniversary, Joni claimed to have discovered an email between Gail and his old girlfriend. Joni also claimed in her divorce filings that he had at least three affairs during their marriage. Ernst, on the other hand, accused Gail of having an affair with a soldier while serving in the National Guard in the early 2000s, which she denied. Their divorce was finalized in 2019.
