Relationship Status
Jose has yet another side of him when it comes to love and romance, apart from a professional life. He is thought to be single at the moment, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t tried his luck in love. He has recently dipped his toe in the water twice, but neither marriage has worked out for him. His first marriage was to Esther Haddad, and they were married on October 25, 1988. This time, it didn’t work out, and they split up on November 25, 1992.
Jose wanted to get into another relationship after his first marriage failed, and this time he fell in love with Jessica Canseco, a waitress at Hooters in Cleveland. They married on August 17th, 1996, and in October of that year, they welcomed their daughter Josie Marie Canseco into the world in California.
Their marriage, however, did not last long, as they filed for divorce in 1999, and it was finalized in 2000. This didn’t stop him from falling in love with someone else. He began dating Leila Knight, but after their engagement, Leila called off the relationship in a November 2014 TMZ interview. Jose allegedly tried to kill Leila and her mother, according to Leila. Jose denied the allegations. He accused Leila of being too strict, blaming her for the breakup of their relationship.

The Oakland Athletics selected him in the minor leagues during the 1982 Draft. When he was with the Miami Marlins, he played in the Florida State League, which marked the start of his professional baseball career. He was also playing Minor League baseball as a part of various teams at the time, but that ended in 1985. This was after the Oakland Athletics selected him in the second round of the 1985 draft. He completed his first full season as a professional player in 1986.
Jose showed no signs of slowing down as he stunned his fans and teammates by hitting a total of 40 home runs. This is now referred to as the 40-40 club. In the same season, the team made it to the World Series. Sadly, they were defeated by Los Angeles.
