Jose Canseco’s life is a whirlwind of activity. While he is well-known for his baseball accomplishments, he has also struggled with substance abuse. As a result, he’s been arrested and imprisoned multiple times. Jose also has a daughter, Josie Canseco, who is a well-known influencer.
As a result, she is quite honest about her life with her fans. She is a successful model who has worked with Sherri Hill, Playboy, and Victoria’s Secret. However, after dating Logan Paul, she was exposed to the world of TikTokers, YouTubers, and influencers. She has cooperated with several and has attended influencers’ podcasts as well.
For example, on February 10, 2022, she visited Jeff Wittek’s podcast, Jeff FM, with the latter’s buddy, Jason Nash.
There, she talked about numerous things like her work and relationships. But one big thing she talked about was her father.
Josie Canseco’s father Jose In Jail for Seven Months
While having a talk with Wittek on the podcast, Josie saw a mug on the table. The cup featured Wittek’s mugshot on it, to which the model asked what he did to get himself in jail.
Wittek stated it was when he was 21 and was dealing cocaine in Miami. He further added now he sells his mugshot up on YouTube. That was when Josie joined in, stating her father did the same and sold goods with his mugshot. Then, one of the co-hosts, Kyle, asked the model what Jose did to go to jail.
There was an awkward moment since Josie did not know how to respond to that. But afterward, she confessed her father went to jail for seven months after beating a guy up. He did it to safeguard a girl since Josie claimed the guy had his hands up the girl’s skirt. Along with Josie’s father, his twin brother, Ozzie Canseco, was also liable for the battery charge.
According to sources, the brawl happened in 2001 at a Miami Beach nightclub. The twins claimed they got involved since the man reportedly assaulted Jose’s pal. Later, the Canseco twins pled guilty to the aggravated battery counts and got community service and probation.
Jose Canseco and Drugs
Jose beating up someone and pleading guilty is not the only time he has had issues with the law. He has a long history of such offenses and even some relating to narcotics. The baseball player is extremely upfront about his use of drugs.
This information originally made headlines in 2005 as he admitted to using drugs alongside other players in his book: Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant ‘Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big. The revelation was so enormous that it even drew the notice of Congress. In 2008, he was jailed for cocaine smuggling.
He pled guilty to traveling to a drugstore in Tijuana and looking for a performance-enhancing medication to enhance his testosterone level. Other than the cases relating to narcotics, Jose has been in jail for other difficulties.
This includes carrying unlicensed firearms and abusing his wives, Esther Canseco, and Jessica Canseco.
