Taller, a new album by singer/songwriter Jamie Cullum, was released in May 2019. The album served as a “metaphor” for his relationship with Sophie Dahl, a considerably taller woman than he was. (cialis)
During an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Christmas Show, he told the host that he “broke one of the laws of the universe by marrying a taller woman.”
He didn’t think he stood a chance with his wife when he first saw her at a charity event. He felt out of his league with his wife, who was two years his senior and eight inches taller.
“I just believed there was no way,” Cullum explained. “Everyone who met her would fall in love with her,” the singer assumed.
His wife was living in New York at the time, and she had a boyfriend, so the two became just friends.
The two had a great chemistry, and Callum was blown away by her, but he didn’t anticipate anything more from her than a friendship. But when she returned to England six to eight months later, their connection took on a new meaning.
Who is Jamie Cullum’s wife?
For those who are unaware, the Jazz musician is married to Sophie Dahl, the granddaughter of Roald Dahl, the famous author.
In 2007, the couple started dating and married in 2010.
“[Dahl’s] a really honest, open person, and she’s taught me to be more honest and open myself, just by being around her,” Cullum said of his relationship with his wife.
He went on to say that she had a big influence on him. The musician shared the secret to his long-lasting marriage to Red. He explained that liking Dahl pushed him to reconsider his ideas about what it meant to live, love, and think.
Cullum, who has been married for almost a decade, also talked about how important it is in a long-term relationship to “develop to meet each other.”
The singer claimed that they were both voracious readers who enjoyed entertaining their friends via cooking.
And one of the qualities he admired about her was her honesty.
He went on to say that the meaning of love was being able to show one’s finest and worst qualities while still being loved by the other.
Children of Jamie Cullum
The couple has two children together. Lyra, their older daughter, was born in 2011, and Margot, their younger daughter, was born in 2013. Following the birth of his two daughters, the ‘All at Sea’ singer expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be a father.
While he was nervous about the responsibility, Callum stated that having others to share his life with was a wonderful privilege.
“Becoming a father and getting married has let me see the world with a lot more intensity; a lot more delight,” he remarked.
He went on to say that having children made him think about how he wanted to conduct his life and what kind of example he wanted to create for his children.
The 42-year-old also claimed that having children made it easier for him to quit over-thinking his profession since he just didn’t have the time. Cullum wants to set a good example for his children, thus he is more concerned with what he is doing these days than with what others think of him.
