Karla Souza and her husband of nearly five years have been living a fairytale life. The couple’s married life is going to be better now that they’ve had their first child together.
Investigate the star’s private life with her husband as well as her career accomplishments thus far.
Marshall Trenkmann, Married
Karla Souza is a married woman in 2014, which is unfortunate for all the single men out there.
She proposed to Marshall Trenkmann, a Texas banker, in December 2013 and married him five months later, in May 2014.
Prior to meeting Marshall, she dated fellow Mexican actor Gonzalo Garcia Vivanco. Between December 2010 and February 2011, the Mexico City native and her ex-boyfriend dated for around three months.
The wedding took held in Tequesquitengo’s Hotel Hacienda Vista Hermosa, among close friends and family members. It was an extremely personal and holy ceremony.
She said in a 2015 interview with Us Weekly that her spouse places lovely notes in her luggage during the day to make her happy.
“My husband [Marshall Trenkmann] leaves me articles he wants me to read about something we were talking about, like Latino culture. Or he’ll drop a little note in my bag saying, ‘I hope your day goes well! I love you.’ It’s super sweet!”
Isn’t that the cutest thing you’ve ever heard?
Apart from the incredibly nice messages, Karla attributes her achievement to her spouse. She mentioned in an interview that it is due to Marshall’s patience and support that she feels unstoppable and has achieved enormous success.
The pair have been married for nearly five years, and there are no reports of them divorcing in the near future.
She Gives Birth to Her First Child With Boyfriend-Turned-Husband
With the freshly born child in the mix, the married couple is unlikely to ever see divorce.
Karla became a mother for the first time at the age of 32 on 19th April 2018, when she and her boyfriend-turned-husband Marshall welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Gianna.
She took to Instagram to share the first photo of herself with the newborn and prayed for God’s blessings. In a subsequent post, she added:-
Thus far, motherhood has been an educational experience for the Mexican actress. In an Instagram post on New Year’s Day, she admitted to learning more about unconditional love and what it’s like to be selfless and in the moment.
Rape By Prominent Director Devastates
Karla understood from an early age that she wanted to be an actor. She began performing at the age of seven in the 1993 film Aspen Extreme.
When it comes to Mexican films and television series, she is a household name. She is the star of two of Mexican cinema’s highest-grossing films, Nosotros Los Nobles and Instructions Not Included. She has also received recognition in Mexico for her performances in Nosotros Los Nobles and Suave Patria.
Apart from these two films, she has been in a number of other Mexican films and television programs, establishing a reputation for herself.
However, that moniker came at a cost. The actress revealed that she was raped by the director during her early career. During her CNN en Espaol interview, she stated, with a teary eye:
I ended up allowing to him to kiss me, to touch me in ways I did not want him to touch me and in one of the instances he violently assaulted me and yes, he raped me.”
Additionally, she stated:
“He knocked at my door saying he wanted to go over some scenes and I thought it’s 2 a.m., it’s not appropriate and it’s something that shouldn’t be happening… “
If she did not answer the door, he threatened to embarrass her the following day on the sets.
After she reported her accusation, an investigation into the director, producer-director Gustavo Loza, was launched, and he was found guilty. He was terminated from the network, and all of his initiatives were likewise terminated.
On Twitter, Loza, on the other side, defended himself:
“I distance myself from any accusation against me by Televisa and Denise Maerker, who today have accused me without foundation regarding the case of the alleged violation denounced by Karla Souza, which I lament profoundly and openly condemn.”
After being subjected to sexual harassment, she took to Twitter to voice her feelings:
“I am proud to stand in solidarity with my sisters in Mexico and women around the world whose voices are finally being heard and saying #TIMESUP,”
Later in life, the Mexican actress relocated to Los Angeles, abandoning her fame and taking a chance on establishing herself in Hollywood. Fortunately for her, she was cast as Laurel in How to Get Away with Murder during her first trial.
Karla Souza – Unquestionably a Hollywood Icon
And with How to Get Away with Murder, Karla seemed to have established a new level of celebrity notoriety in Hollywood. Now in its third season, her popularity continues to grow with each episode.
Karla Souza starred in the unconventional romantic comedy film “Everybody Loves Someone” as Clara Barron, a young woman learning life and love. According to EOnline, the film was not your typical romantic comedy; it was free of stereotypes and attempted to introduce new and fresh ideas.
Karla Souza stars in the film as a successful OBGYN (obstetrician-gynecologist) who struggles with opening up to others and letting her walls down in order to find love. The film is intended to be quite relevant to people, particularly women in contemporary society who struggle to find someone to share their lives with and to provide a breath of fresh air to the Indie film scene.
Karla Souza was deemed to be an excellent fit for the character, owing to her Mexican ancestry and global attitude. She previously discussed using and maximizing her French-Mexican-American ancestry in her films. She added a comment on this subject, stating,
“I never want to limit my career to one language. I speak three languages, and I’m as culturally brought up in the US, Mexico, and France. I wish that my career can include all of these cultures and languages. I don’t think that one is better than the other, and I see them both with so much love. To be able to bring my life which was growing up in English and Spanish to the screen and sharing that with people, knowing that a lot of people feel that they are not being seen because there isn’t a lot of stories being told about us. So I realized on How to Get Away With Murder come episode six that I was a Latina, they were like, ‘Thank you for bringing this to the screen and being you and being a different Latina than we’ve seen.’ I realized that this was a huge deal to people. So I take it very seriously, and I know that I have a tremendous responsibility to keep doing more projects where I feel like I am including and I’m bringing together the cultures and giving a voice to the people that don’t have a voice, especially in the film industry.”
Karla has had the opportunity to feature as a cover girl in various magazines due to her acting career. She made waves when she declined an opportunity to appear on the cover of the Mexican edition of GQ nearly naked.
“They wanted me in a bra and panties but I was like, ‘I don’t want to do the bra and panties on a bed thing. I wanted sophisticated, fancy, nice and beautiful and sexy, but not that. After a year, they were like, ‘OK!’ Luckily, they said yes to bathing suits and things I felt more comfortable in.”
