Thanks to her characteristic vibrant blue hair and unique street-style appearance, Ashton Casey, better known as Ashnikko, is swiftly becoming a household figure in the music industry.
Not only that, but the rapper’s compelling beats, inventive lyrics, and songs about feminism and identity orientation have helped her amass millions of fans in a short period of time. This has, however, raised a slew of doubts about her sexuality, such as, “Is Ashnikko gay?”
The crowd reacted positively to Ashnikko’s mixtape ‘Demidevil,’ which she released in January 2021. ‘Slumber Party,’ starring Princess Nokia, is the one song on the album that fully underscores the record’s gay success.
In an interview with Gay Times, Ashnikko revealed that she was a very closeted lesbian lady who only had a few chances, to be honest with herself. She feared there was something wrong with her as a child growing up in a little Southern town.
We’ve given you the coming-out tale of Ashnikko, the fan-favorite blue-haired queen, for Pride Month.

Ashnikko was able to come out thanks to the internet
The rapper grew up in a conservative North Carolina neighborhood, where she was always conscious that her liberal views ran counter to those of her “patriarchal” family. Back then, her family was not very supportive of LGBTQ+ rights or feminism.
Ashnikko revealed she has been strange from childhood in a 2020 interview with Gay Times. “Why do I enjoy all of my friends, and why am I so jealous when one of them has a boyfriend?” “How come you’re so envious?” she wondered.
Ashnikko’s coming to terms with her orientation was aided by the internet, particularly Tumblr.
Following that, the artist was entirely open and honest with herself about her affections for women. Despite this, she didn’t come out until recently. The ‘Slumber Party’ singer expressed her dissatisfaction with herself for taking so long to accept herself.
“Tumblr was a lifesaver for me. It was like, “Wow, this is incredible!” for me. She added, “Finally!”
On ‘Glee,’ Santana Lopez aided her in coming to terms with her feelings.
Naya Rivera’s popular portrayal of lesbian cheerleader Santana Lopez on Glee also aided Ashnikko in coming to terms with her homosexuality, according to Ashnikko. Rivera sadly drowned in Lake Piru, California, in the year 2020. As a child, Ashnikko recalls seeing her as the first LGBT woman on television.
Rivera’s death, according to Ashnikko, made her realize how severely it had affected her.
It appeared to her as if an older sister had died. Rivera’s character, Lopez, helped her family progressively move away from their conservative beliefs, she stated. Of course, this involved binge-watching Glee. Now, the artist’s family is fully supportive of her artistic ambitions.
Her extended family, on the other hand, still regards her as a “heathen” relative who is ashamed of her and her occupation, she explained.
Her background, according to Ashnikko, made her more loud and defiant. She explained, “I was revolting against my family.”

In 2019, she came out as Bisexual in public
Right before Pride London finished in July 2019, the rap legend came out as bisexual for the first time.
She disclosed on Twitter that this was the first year she had been completely honest with herself about her identity. In a subsequent tweet, Ashnikko wrote that she learned she was completely normal after leaving a tiny town and being welcomed by London’s most beautiful LGBTIQ+ community.
Then, in May 2021, while being chastised for fetishizing transgender people due of her song, Ashnikko came out as pansexual on Twitter.
The 25-year-old performer stated that she wasn’t ready to share the news with the rest of the world until then. She decided it was a good time to come out because everyone was analyzing her sexual orientation and gender identity.
