Career
Massimiliano Allegri began his career with Cuoio Pelli Juventus in 1984 as a midfielder. He returned to Livorno the following year, where he spent the majority of his early career playing in the lower divisions. He switched teams frequently, playing for Pisa and Pavia before returning to Livorno in 1989-1990 for a second stint.
He scored 12 excellent goals from midfield to help Pescara gain promotion to Serie A in 1992, but he was unable to prevent his club from being relegated to last place.
Despite helping Milan win their sixth Supercoppa Italiana title in the 2011-12 season, the club was knocked out of the Coppa Italia semifinals and the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
